Memory Walk 2008 was amazing. It poured. Torrential rain storm. It was the tail end of a hurricane that blew storms in - rain blowing in sideways. I went to the walk knowing that only those of us committed staff members would be there. After all, we raised money – the walk was the fun part! I pulled up to hundreds of soaked SOLES... Families joined together in the worst weather to honor their loved one. Staff members, drenched and smiling - amazed to be a part of something so meaningful to so many. 5.3 million people living with Alzheimer’s disease, their families trying to cope and last September, in a downpour, a few hundred of us came out in their honor. And it was a glorious and hopeful day.

I am celebrating my 5th year with this fine organization in August. I have met the most committed and passionate employees, family caregivers and folks – as young as I am – dealing with this disease. They need our help more than ever before.
This year our walk is on Sept 13th and I am hoping for sunny skies. Please help me MOVE the cause forward this year with a generous donation. It means so much to so many. We've also got awesome purple shoelaces you can order on line like the ones above!
